Community Transport survey

Whittington Parish Council would like to hear your views on Community Transport provision in the parish.

A Community Transport Scheme could, for instance, be used to provide a ‘dial up’ bus service to connect the parish with shopping outlets/supermarkets or Worcester city centre. It could be a means of connecting residents with essential services that do have access to other transport options. The Norton Connector is an example of a nearby scheme that is in operation:

Grant funding is potentially available to support the introduction of such a scheme but it would also be funded from bus fares. Depending on usage, the scheme might also need to be subsidised by the Parish Council through your council tax.

With this is mind the Parish Council would like to hear your views. Are there any journeys that you currently find difficult that would be made possible via a community transport scheme? Are the current public transport options available a good fit for your needs? Any comments, concerns or questions are most welcome.
