Forthcoming Traffic Management on Southern Link Road

An update from Worcestershire County Council.

Please be aware of the following Traffic Management arrangements on Phase 4 of the Southern Link Road:

  • Two-way traffic signals will be deployed overnight (9pm-5:30am) on Temeside Way from Monday 17th August until mid/late September to complete drainage work and to strip soil from the embankment for environmental management purposes.
  • Hams Way will be closed in both directions on 12th and 13th September from approximately 7:30am until around 5:30pm for the installation of the Hams Way Footbridge. A diversion will be signed via Malvern Road/Bransford Road. The work will also require the deployment of 3-way signals on the other three approaches to Powick Roundabout for the phase of the operation where the bridge is manoeuvred into place, although this will be kept to the shortest duration possible. Advanced warning signs will be displayed ahead of the closures taking place. The process of manoeuvring the bridge into place is complex and safety critical and unfortunately we will not be able to accommodate onlookers on site.
