An update from Worcestershire County Council:
Further to previous updates regarding forthcoming road closures and lane restrictions on SLR3 and SLR4, some changes are required due to recent weather events.
Griffiths were due to close the eastbound (Hams Way) approach to Powick Roundabout on Monday evening this week. The work could not go ahead due to the flooding and it will need to be rescheduled. Please rest assured that Griffiths had a flood risk plan in place which was implemented over the weekend and vulnerable plant and equipment was relocated out of the high risk areas. The larger vehicles are capable of being submerged up to the top of their wheels/tracks without any impact on their mechanical integrity.
Crookbarrow Way was due to be closed overnight for a week commencing on 4th November followed by a number of off-peak closures. This work has now been rescheduled as follows. Some off-peak lane restrictions will be implemented from 11th November to facilitate drainage, landscaping and other ancillary works. During this period work will continue on the Crookbarrow Way Footbridge ramps. Following this, starting on the evening of Monday 2nd December, Crookbarrow Way will be closed overnight (9pm – 6am) in both directions for up to 7 evenings. The usual advanced warnings and diversions will be in place. Once the surfacing has been completed there will be around 7 days where off-peak lane restrictions will be required for the installation of VRS barriers. Revised versions of the letters we recently issued to residents about the closures will be delivered this week.
Broomhall Way will be closed overnight eastbound-only on one evening during the w/c 2nd December. The precise date will be signed in advance.
Rescheduling the work in the manner outlined above enables us to stay on programme.
